Golf's SHOT Master Press Release
Golf's SHOT Master was created by three business partners: Mr. Charles Casteel, Sr., Mr. Charles Casteel, Jr,, and Mr. Willie Roberson.  The idea for the app was conceived by Charles Casteel, Jr., who is an avid golfer that wanted a way to improve his game while on the golf course. Mr. Casteel, Jr. is an executive with Verizon.  Mr. Roberson has played golf for over 15 years and have worked with several golf instructors to find easy methods for playing and teaching golf using video analysis, driving range instruction, and playing the course.  He is featured in the videos demonstrating how to master each shot.  Mr. Casteel, Sr., a retired Information Technology expert, developed the Golf's SHOT Master app.

Highlighted Accomplishments

Designed, conceptualized, marketed and sold several software products
that resulted in increased long-term revenues.  Products include Contract Compliance Tracking, Real Estate Electronic Document Systems, Teacher’s Aide, DC MBE Vendor Registration System, and Material Safety Data Sheets.

Developed and implemented a system concept to enable WhiteOak Semiconductor (a subsidiary of Motorola and Siemens) chip manufacturing plant to become Y2K compliant.  This concept was used world-wide by Motorola and Siemens and resulted in a $12 million follow-on contract.

Wrote winning proposals that exceeded $195 million since 1987.  Served as proposal manager and spearheaded large system integration and enterprise solution efforts.  Developed win strategies and formed teams.

Developed proof-of-concepts and IT visions for a variety of clients that have led to increased revenues and profits.  Led the sale and delivery of the full range of IT consulting services for clients like Philip Morris USA, Verizon, Government of the District of Columbia, US Army, US Department of Agriculture, US Department of Labor, US Housing & Urban Development, US Army National Guard, US Navy, New York/New Jersey Port Authority, New Jersey Transit, Bay Area Rapid Transit (San Francisco), County of Milwaukee, and more.

From 2003- to the present, Mr. Casteel obtained valuable systems knowledge as a Director of the Verizon Consumers & Small Business Sales Centers. He is very successful in developing and providing strategic direction to the entire organization, maintaining focus on corporate initiatives.   His duties also included the use of his social skills, as he has documentation of working successfully with others in directing program efforts of the Sales Solution Centers with approximately 1000 associate and management employees as well as, controlling a $52M operations budget and associated project directives.

From 1997-2003 Mr.  Casteel utilized his time management and leadership skills as a Manager For Verizon Communications, Beltsville, MD. His position description entailed being responsible for a mixture of strategy, project management, implementation, and administrative functions. He managed the daily operations of a Consumer Sales Solution Center with over 200 direct reports. Mr. Casteel has a proven record of being the sole culprit of uplifting two under achieving call centers to high level performance within 1-year.


Mr. Casteel analyzed and resolved day-to-day issues with the Sales Solution Community in order to increase user proficiency and manufacturing productivity. Developed and administered training to new employees as well as re-train existing users on new sales solution functionality implementations. He used his community oriented skills by providing organized project directives and work efforts involving technical and administrative processes. Mr. Casteel’s additional responsibilities were coaching and development of the assistant manager team, and he facilitated monthly team meetings and team appraisal reviews. From his efforts, Mr. Casteel has been recognized for being the #1 rated Call Center Manager in the MD/DC District.

From 1993 to 1997 Mr. Casteel Successfully met the challenges of being a productive Assistant Manager for Bell Atlantic in Silver Spring, MD. He had great success in managing the billing operations of Bell Atlantic’s largest customers. Mr. Casteel used impeccable skills to interpret company policy for the Access Carrier Support Center, Federal Communications and Public Service Commissions, tariff items and public relations for day-to-day interface with customers. Mr. Casteel relied heavily on his skills to develop and implements the Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) handbook in accordance with the 1996 FCC Telecommunications Act.

Mr. Casteel has Co-owner experience as a result of being a co-owner of Royal Video Store in Hyattsville, MD. His crucial role was put to the test as he successfully co-operated the business that entailed managing the daily operations of the business, hired, trained and supervised employees; coordinated advertising campaigns and marketing strategies as well as, performed accounting/book keeping functions.

Education
Mr. Casteel successfully endured the necessary discipline and the appropriate ethics to achieve his BS in Communications from Bowie State University (Magna Cum Laude), and an AA in Liberal Arts from Prince George’s Community College.  He is currently in pursuit of an MBA.
